Risk assessment is the cornerstone of Health & Safety in the UK and as such places significant obligation on employers and employees to implement risk assessments that are “Suitable & Sufficient”. The most important purpose of risk assessments is to help prevent accidents and ensure the safety of employees and anyone affected by workplace activities.

This course covers the techniques for assessing risk within your organisation health and safety incidents. Once you understand the methods for assessing risk, you can modify and apply them to any area according to your own organisation’s needs. The course looks at the legislation involved, how to carry out Hazard Identification and look at the suitable ways to introduce risk prevention measures in the workplace. Together with information on the 5 steps to risk assessment this course will enable you to objectively look at the hazards in your workplace and put together suitable and sufficient risk assessments in order to comply with legislation and Approved Codes of Practice.
